Veterinary Diagnostics in Houston
Unraveling the Mystery of Your Pet’s Health
It can be difficult to tell when your pet is suffering from an illness or injury. Pets are particularly good at hiding when they’re not feeling well. At FM 1960 Animal Hospital, our team uses the latest diagnostic tools to help us figure out what’s ailing your pet fast. As an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited practice, we are fully equipped with in-house laboratory and radiology services to help ensure your pet gets the care they need when they need it most.
In addition to using our diagnostic tools when your pet is feeling under the weather, we use our diagnostic capabilities in the service of our preventative approach to your pet’s healthcare. Your Houston veterinarian will often order laboratory tests as part of your pet’s regular wellness exams so that we can establish a baseline for your pet’s health, allowing us to quickly pinpoint changes when we compare this history against new results.
Diagnostic Testing at FM 1960 Animal Hospital
We offer the latest diagnostic tools in the service of your pet’s health, providing a wide range of laboratory tests both in-house and in partnership with an outside laboratory. Radiographs are also available onsite, helping us to see beyond your pet’s fur.
Our on-site laboratory testing capabilities include:
- Blood chemistry
- Heartworm testing
- Feline Leukemia and FIV testing
- Eye pressure readings
- Blood pressure
By offering the above tests in our own lab, we can get you results quickly, which helps us get your pet back on all fours even faster.
Radiographs, or radiological imaging, can help us visualize your pet’s internal systems. This can be particularly useful when your pet has swallowed something they shouldn’t have or if we suspect they’ve suffered a traumatic injury. At FM 1960 Animal Hospital, we offer digital x-rays and ultrasounds on the premises. These pain-free, non-invasive measures help us see beyond your pet’s fur to get a look at their bones, organs, and other internal systems. If a physical exam or laboratory test indicates there might be something more going on under the surface, our team will use radiology to help us get to the bottom of the issue.
